How to teach kids emotion regulation with bottles






So many of you have asked how I teach regulation states with sensory bottles. I use this technique to help others understand what regulation is. It isn’t a tank that is full or empty, but rather different states of emotions and sensations. The goal of regulation isn’t to always be regulated, but rather to be able to get back to a regulated state when you become dysregulated. We do this via co-regulation strategies and de-escalation strategies.
